- JOB PURPOSE:
Receive, review, and evaluate loan applications from members of the YESS Fund and submit same for approval by the credit committee and the Board.
DUTIES:
- Accept and review loan applications and where necessary meet with loan applicants to identify and assess their businesses.
- Analyze active loan files on a regular basis and recommend solutions to speed up the loan process.
- Complete loan contracts and teach clients about policies and regulations.
- Monitor and update loan records.
- Submit loan applications in a timely manner to the credit committee.
- Respond to applicants’ questions and resolve any loan-related issues.
- Operate in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Maintains Contacts with the Administrator, accountant and IT officer
- Maintains contacts with Business Association and Chamber Members, MDAs, and Development/Donor Partners
- KEY COMPETENCIES AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or a similar field
- Loan Assessment: Evaluate loan applications, manage risks, and ensure ethical lending practices.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and projections for informed lending decisions.
- Client Relationships: Build strong customer relationships and provide excellent service.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to lending laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Negotiation: Skillfully negotiate loan terms while protecting the institution’s interests.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and maintain the health of loan portfolios.
- Technology Utilization: Use digital tools for efficiency and credit assessments.
- Problem Solving: Address challenges in loan processes and client interactions.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues for seamless loan operations.
- Ethical Conduct: Uphold high ethical standards and promote trust in lending.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a loan officer.
- Solid understanding of domestic and international loan regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of computers and banking software.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Customer service-oriented with exceptional sales skills.
